High School with a Higher Purpose

Chesterton Academy of Blessed Michael McGivney is a member of the Chesterton Schools Network (CSN) along with 90+ other schools in the United States and beyond. The CSN is an initiative of the Society of G.K. Chesterton, a lay apostolate canonically established by Archbishop Bernard Hebda in 2018. Under the patronage of G.K. Chesterton & Blessed Michael McGivney our mission is to raise up a new generation of joyful leaders and saints, educated in the classical tradition and the truths of the Catholic faith.

Our rigorous, integrated curriculum unlocks student potential and prepares students to succeed in college and professional life and to excel in service of family, country, and Christ our Lord.

Our Model of Education

THE THREE PILLARS

Inspired by Saint John Paul II, we take as our motto Cultura Vitae, the Culture of Life. We make it our mission to prepare our students to triumph over the materialism and despair that pervade our culture and to accept our Lord's offer to have life and have it abundantly. Our classical curriculum combines a broad liberal arts education with a strong emphasis on the development of Christian virtues and an appreciation of beauty. Through our Three Pillars Model, we form our students in:

Students in school uniforms reading textbooks at desks, focus on one student's hand holding open a book titled "The Tide of Battle Turns."

We teach the classics of Western thought from physics to philosophy, and the interrelationship of the great ideas; teaching students not merely what to think, but how to think.

INTELLECT

Three students standing in a library, smiling. Two girls are wearing school uniforms with a crest, and a boy in the middle is in a blazer and striped tie. Bookshelves with books are in the background.

We help students grow in the four cardinal virtues of prudence, temperance, fortitude and justice, which we believe are the foundation of leadership.

CHARACTER

Young boys dressed in white and black robes participating in a religious ceremony, holding candles and a cross, inside a church with large windows showing greenery outside.

Our students come to understand and embrace the truth of why they exist: to know God, to love Him, and to serve Him in this world and be happy with Him forever in the next.

SPIRITUALITY

“Education is simply the soul of a society as it passes from one generation to another.”

Hallmarks of a Chesterton Education

An Incarnational Environment

A logo with a large serif letter 'A' and a smaller stylized 'C' and 'A' inside it, set on a dark blue irregular shape background.

From history and theology to math and science, the Incarnation is the central mystery we explore across the entire curriculum. It is our desire that each student would personally experience the Incarnation.

Rediscovering the Lost Tools of Learning

A logo featuring a dark blue scalloped border with overlapping black letters 'C' and 'A' in the center.

Our curriculum is centered on skills seemingly forgotten in our modern society - reading, writing, oral presentations, and the development of critical reasoning skills through logic and philosophy.

A Focus on Truth, Goodness, and Beauty

A circular logo with a dark blue background, featuring overlapping black Greek letter sigma and Latin letter A in the center.

Our classical curriculum combines a broad, liberal arts education with a strong emphasis on the development of Christian virtues and an appreciation of beauty.

The Socratic Seminar

A logo with the letters C and A overlapping, set inside a navy blue scalloped circle.

The Socratic seminar is perhaps the oldest educational tool. Through this method, a teacher imparts knowledge through directed questions and guided dialogue, bringing ideas and knowledge to life.

An Joyful Learning Environment

A circular logo with a scalloped edge, featuring the letters A and C overlapping in the center on a dark blue background.

We create environments where students experience the joy of community and the discovery process, providing them with an opportunity to live out their spiritual life in an atmosphere of joy and fun.

The Wit and Wisdom of G.K. Chesterton

Logo with overlapping black Greek letters alpha and omega inside a blue scalloped circular background.

Chesterton exemplified the Catholic faith through his wit, his clarity, his kindness, and his ability to love people with whom he disagreed, while sharing the faith in Christian charity.
